It started an an acute care clinic on Melrose Avenue in L.A. in 1992. But by 1998, there were no websites with general information and for those in crisis on Craniosacral Therapy and other light touch modalities. CraniOcean.Calm was the first website up in the Craniosacral Therapy trade for this purpose and has influenced many more over the past decade.

After all these years, it doesn't matter the school or approach that one uses in craniosacral, what matters is the truth.

Information on other light touch therapies was added and this site served as one of the only information providers for these services online. Now, it's time for an upgrade and certain things will look a bit different. We have put this off as long as possible because so many liked the old website, it's very familiar, and protested any changes.

There are some refreshing new additions to this website, designed as before by J.C. Spradley, such as drop down Menus, Books, and a Calandar function, and now the Blogs (Blends) are easier to access. Theses Blogs were never posted before on the site or advertised, but are as quiet as before — for those who happen to find them, along with the book gardens. Later, there might possibly be a shopping cart added.

This site will be a work in progress – just as the old site was — for the next several months. For those who would like to take a walk down memory lane and visit the old website, CraniOcean.Calm, feel free!

Thank you for the privilege of your support over these years and for this visit with us. Comments are fine now, if you actually feel inspired to do so. Let us know what you like about the site now, if anything.

We hope you find a friend in the pages of the new upgrade too!

Point, (How are you, David?) but it’s nice to see someone, anyone, chipping away at the mechanisms behind PTSD and considering the possibility of its existence. And does this new panel really know what Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is, or anything about its safe and effective relief and treatment?

From Reuters and Canada.com, Review confirms PTSD, other syndromes in Gulf vets

Earlier in this Blend, we’ve seen reports about listlessness and a lack of feeling of purpose in the troops. Now, this is called by the Long War, for it’s the longest war in American’s history. Questions — Does anyone get what’s going on? Is the logic being used to fight all the world of much use, on the ground? Does anyone, really, feel safer now? Why not the study of man instead of his problems?

And what might all of this have to do with the healing power of a light touch?

An Example of a Real Question -- What is Going on Here?

Might there be other choices before more drastic and very expensive medical procedures are enlisted? Why not airlift in battalions of light touch therapists, massage therapists, reiki masters, chiropractors, craniosacral therapists, acupuncturists, shock and trauma therapists, and so on, and have them go to work on the local populations (if not on the soldiers) in clinics guarded on the outside? http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1811858,00.html

And why not airlift in poets and poetry teachers too?

All of this would create a radical shift in the balance toward heatlh,

harmony and wholeness.

Greetings! If you like Massage, you’ll love CranioSacral! CranioSacral is a deeply gentle and calming hands on therapy which goes beyond the reach of traditional medicine. It is performed on a relaxing massage table, but unlike Massage Therapy, with all the clothes on. “Kind of a cross between massage and chiropractic.” Because it uses a very gentle touch, and is non-intrusive, it is safe for all ages, from elderly to newborns. And those who would just like a relaxing tune up! Learn more in CraniOcean’s new book, JOURNEYS: STORIES OUR BODIES CAN TELL. This shows how the body, not just the mind, has stories to tell. And visit the informative website to learn even more! Thanks for your visit and be well.

If you’ve never had a dolphin encounter, or want to get closer to them than a swim in the wild … experience them as they work with you!

There are a few spots left this summer!

Lot’s of loving and expert human hands around. And before lunch times, in the water with dolphins doing Therapy, July 15-18.

(Why is there a fee at all? Why isn’t this free? Dolphins are expensive to rent!
More than your therapists are! Also, we are certified professionals, includes, time,

Want to do a life time of contemplation for health in four days? Reconnect? Deeply
are July 19-23. For the past 8 years are so, Spotted Dolphins have been cruising the edges
of this tiny jewel of a Bahama island. This is the island where Ernest Hemmingway
fished for Marlin and wrote.

(Why is there a fee for for this at all? Why
isn’t this free? You can always swim with wild dolphins, but this is considerate to them, for they come to you. Also, boat, fuel, time, and expertise)

I do hope you will accept this invitation to join me with the bottlenose-dolphin-
facilitators and the attuned hands of many loving human therapists this summer, July
15-18, 2010.

After this, why not continue with a few days of swimming with the wild
spotted dolphins off Bimini, from July 19-23, 2010?

OK, now details follow! Put on your blue suede eyeglasses! Infants and toddlers with parents welcome too!

In the Integrative Intentions Dolphin Assisted Therapy program, we trust and facilitate the inclusion of our natural environment in the healing process. CranioSacral (CST) therapy is our primary modality. CST relies upon the innate healing capacities of our own nature. Dolphins offer their assistance in the healing process. We intend to facilitate, with their assistance, to bring holistic dimensions into your therapy. Dolphins frequently offer us their unique ability to facilitate healing. We will be respectfully asking them to participate and assist in your healing process. This brings some unique holistic dimensions into this work. We have found that the uniqueness of each individual exchange with dolphins brings a very individualized, specific and universal dynamic to the process. Regardless of what you have read or been told by others and the images you might have, we invite you to come and experience for yourself.

It’s so funny here in the South how people seem to think that America was sold out to “single payer,” a form of Medicare. People are up in arms that America’s health care system, after the great vote, is NOW the same as that of Canada and England and France. Might there be a bit of brainwashing here?

And ironically, at the same time there is a kind of unspoken excitement and relief among these same folks here in the South that America now has a health care system that works to benefit the People, because they mistakenly think that it is NOW just like Canada’s and England’s and France’s health care systems. This is uncanny.

Not to discourage, but those who have been following the debate know that health care reform was put aside by President Obama, early on, due to the worries of the larger insurance corporations, and that the debate was then about, “health insurance” reform.

OMG, what?

You mean it wasn't Health Care Reform? What of Regan's, City on a Hill?

Here is a man who sums it up quite well in a review on a rather liberal blog. OK, whether you like Dr. Andrew Weil or not, he sure has been following the Health Care debate in detail. He’s even able to sum up Sunday’s vote. If you lost the thread of the debate, Dr. Weil will fill you in here. From his Huffington Post article, The Good, the Bad, the Awful in Health Insurance Reform

Fear not, what American has now is nothing like what Canada, England, France, and other developed Nations have. There is no such thing as “Obamacare.” Obamacare is merely the way that Insurance has been deployed in the last 50 years in this country. There are some minor differences now, but marginal.

True health care reform might never pass in this country without the approval of private insurance corporations. Fortunately, we still have preventative, alternative, complementary, and integrative care available – for an amount of cash money and time – and it works.

Anyway, if you’ve read this far, you know that CraniOcean questions, and does not take sides in politics. Here, in this Blend, we are looking at Health. And it’s quite amusing how far folks will go, the fabulous lengths, to maintain poor health and the status quo of chaos, conflict, contraction, dis-harmony. Anyway, here is another question, rather prosaic:

What is Integrative Medicine anyway?

Of course, all that was needed so that Americans could really have the same insurance programs as Congress and the Military, as promised by Obama in his Campaign — and yes, like these other developed Nations, would have been to lower the age to receive Medicare. All along, the solution was already in place. And Obama gets accused of being a Karl Marx anyway! Well, this isn’t news to anyone. So it goes.

Thank you.

Did you know that Private Insurance companies are exempt from Anti-trust laws? This means, in summary, that they can raise rates as high as they want to without regulation of any kind. Well, what if folks in some states can’t afford the huge rate hikes going on now? Or just don’t care to use Insurance?

Fortunately, the article has a happy ending, at least in the House. It’s yet to see the Senate. What will happen next? Hope it uploads from the NY Times for ya.

Journey again beyond traditional medicine with James Nemec LMT, CST-D, to ancient Ireland and discover the stories that stones can tell! Do stones, when approached with a light touch, just like a patient and/or client of craniosacral therapy, have stories to tell? What could the mysterious spirals in the World Heritage sites of Newgrange and Knowth have to do with the spiraling structure of James Joyce’s, “Ulysses”? Might these fine things reach as far as the Cosmos, the conscious Universe, even to evoke our origins on this planet? Nemec, author of the award winning, “Touch the Ocean: The Power of Our Collective Emotions,” presented this essay on the 2009 Winter Solstice as gift and tribute to the ancient wisdom and the people of Ireland.
